Consultation or intake? Two ways to get started

Not sure whether to request a consultation or schedule an intake? Here's the difference.

Sample draft for Melissa to review, edit or replace. Not a published article.

Reaching out to a therapist for the first time can feel like a big step. I offer two ways to begin, so you can choose whichever feels right.

Request a consultation

If you have questions, or you'd like to see whether we're a good fit before committing, start here. Fill out the short consultation form with your name and the best way to reach you, and I'll get back to you to talk it through.

Schedule an intake

If you already know you're ready to begin, you can schedule an intake appointment yourself through my secure SimplePractice client portal. Paperwork and reminders are handled there too.

Either way works

There's no wrong door. Both are on the Getting Started page.

If you or your child are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. This practice can't respond to emergencies.
